As summer draws to a close, we're excited to share news of our
partnership with the Acres Project,
an organization fostering vocational, social, and educational opportunities
for autistic and neurodivergent people
in Central PA.
This summer, our maintenance team at Strawberry Fields had the privilege of welcoming three Acres workers—Delaney Bell, Isaiah Morris, and Kylei Hahn—along with their Crew Leader, Ashton Hadden. This dedicated team, with their unique skills and enthusiasm, made significant contributions to routine maintenance at our residential programs, including painting, gardening, light landscaping, and clean-up.
"Having the Acres crew join our summer team has been a win-win," explains Rich Gadsby, Director of Technical Operations. "We are proud to provide valuable work experience and showcase inclusive employment. It's partnerships like these that truly strengthen our community.”
Our partnership with the Acres Project goes beyond maintenance. We are proud to support Acres Artisans by showcasing and selling their beautifully embroidered hand towels at Scraps and Skeins. We encourage you to visit our store to admire these wonderful creations (and perhaps take one home!) and explore our unique selection of creative reuse items.
At Strawberry Fields, we are committed to creating a more inclusive community where everyone can contribute, grow, and thrive. Our belief in the power of partnerships to amplify our impact is exemplified in our collaboration with the Acres Project. By aligning with organizations that share our values, we can extend our reach and further our mission of supporting individuals of all abilities.
As we strengthen these partnerships and forge new ones, we're not just supporting others' missions – we're enhancing our own. We look forward to continuing this journey of collaboration and invite our community to join us in supporting these inclusive initiatives. Together, we can create a more vibrant and inclusive future for all.
