This holiday season, we at Strawberry Fields are reflecting on what truly matters—our remarkable community. Every day, we witness the transformative power of our dedicated employees, volunteers, donors, and partners working together to empower individuals and enrich lives.
The spirit of community has been especially vibrant these past few weeks. Through our vital partnership with the State College Food Bank, residents across our programs enjoyed complete Thanksgiving meals with all the traditional fixings. This celebration expanded even further thanks to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church's generosity, which enabled us to bring holiday meals to our mental health case management clients who might otherwise have missed out on the warmth of a Thanksgiving meal.
The joy continued at our annual Intellectual and Developmental Disability Program Christmas party. Residents prepared dishes to share while our cherished volunteers, Dale and Linda Walker, lovingly prepared four turkeys, ensuring everyone had plenty to eat. The festivities peaked with Santa's special appearance, bringing gifts for each resident before a lively gift exchange. These gatherings represent more than seasonal celebrations—they're the foundation of the belonging and connection that every person deserves.
As thoughts turn to meaningful giving this holiday season, consider a gift that creates lasting change. Honor a loved one with a tribute gift that opens doors of possibility for those with disabilities. Should you make a tribute gift, we will share its impact with your honoree, making it a uniquely meaningful way to celebrate someone special.
Whether through appreciated securities or a direct contribution, your thoughtful year-end gift helps us continue innovating with compassion and grow thoughtfully. Visit www.sfionline.org to make your gift or explore more inspiring impact stories.
