Strawberry Fields, Inc. began in 1972 as an alternative to institutionalizing people with mental retardation. Our commitment to support people with developmental disabilities started as a day program on a farm in Yarnell, PA.

Today, SFI supports 70+ adults who live in either an SFI owned residence or their own home. Our agency was founded on the belief that individuals with disabilities can live productive and valued lives. Individuals who receive our services have come to us from their family home or a state facility.

The support SFI offers is made possible through the commitment and skill of our dedicated employees who are trained in every aspect of providing support to those we serve, keeping at the forefront the health, safety and welfare of the individuals. Our goal is to create a system of support that enables people with disabilities to live meaningful lives and to be fully participating members of their family and community.

We assist each individual's control of his or her own life decisions to the degree in which they are able, while at the same time helping them to acquire the necessary skills and protection appropriate for their ability.
